Ruby Is Adopted!
Ruby was surrendered to us by her previous owner. She was just about to turn 3 years old, and they had had her since she was a puppy. She had a 20 acre ranch to run and explore, but then unfortunately things changed, and her owner had to move to a smaller place, and they no longer had the room for Ruby to run and play. They thought it would be best to reach out to us to help find her a home where she would have lots of room, with someone who could spend lots of time with her.
Nancy and Tony, experienced GSP owners were looking for a female. They understood having GSP’s the commitment of time and exercise and training a young GSP requires. Ruby had recently arrived, and was vetted, and was available. The timing could not have been more perfect. We invited Nancy and Tony to come out and meet Ruby and another dog, and Ruby was the one they had a connection with. They had the time, and plenty of love to give this little girl, and were very excited to have her join their family.
We received an update on Ruby, and she is doing great!
“Ruby is doing well, addicted to squirrels, and she stands in the corner of the yard watching like a statue. She goes on 4 walks a day. She loved the mountains at Christmas. She is very mellow at night after dinner. We took her to an off leash dog park far from home, no dogs, so she could run full out. She pulls a lot when walking. She doesn't like the rain. My other dogs didn't mind. This is our fourth hunting dog. Three were rescues, all lived long healthy lives. The GSP I raised from a puppy lived to 16 1/2. All the rest 13. Not bad for purebred big dogs.
She is like having a puppy at 3 years, lots of energy. We love her and couldn’t be happier”!
