Kaiser
Kaiser is an 11 year old stunning male German Shorthaired Pointer. Puppies are cute and fun, but adopting a senior GSP like Kaiser can be easier. You can avoid some tough puppy stages. He's already house-trained, crate trained, past the destructive chewing phase, and settled into his personality. What you see is what you get: a loving, loyal companion ready to share his golden years with you. Kaiser, thankfully, is healthy and ready to find his forever home.
The Basics
Gender: Male
Age: 11
Dogs: Best as an only dog
Good with Cats: No cats
Kids: No small children
The Good Stuff: Kaiser is a true testament to the GSP breed: intelligent, energetic, and eager to please. He jumped right into the car when rescued, clearly happy to be out of the shelter. He has a unique way of connecting with people. He gently leans on the inside of their leg, creating a feeling of warmth. This simple gesture reveals his affectionate nature. He enjoys walks, runs, and hikes, and is equally happy to relax by your side and watch Netflix. Imagine the quiet companionship, the gentle snores at your feet, and the unwavering love that only a senior dog can offer.
The Challenges: We don’t know Kaiser’s history, but from what we have learned about him, he prefers his humans over both large and small dogs, and would do best as an only dog in the home and receive all of your attention.
What our volunteers are saying about Kaiser:
Really loves when people come and pet and love on him.
Kaiser is smart and does sit for treats. He loves to lean on you. Typical Velcro dog. Goes out the dog door to go potty, and hang out.
Sweet old man, loves getting head pats.
Knows the commands “sit”, “come”, and “lay down”.
His favorite toy is a ball.
